Hillsborough County accepts a written Affidavit of Defense under Florida Rule of Traffic Court 6.340. The affidavit must be sworn and notarized, and a bond equal to the civil penalty plus clerk fees must be posted. Delivery to the Traffic Division must be at least 5 business days before the scheduled hearing date for the hearing officer to consider it.
